Senior Internship - Week 8 Progress Report

Last week I had expected to completely finish the class account application. This goal proved unwieldly, though, as much of my time this week was dedicated to other responsibilities around my place of work. Admittedly I made no progress on this app.

Instead, this week I focused on returning to the first application I made - the scheduling app. I met with my manager, Andrea, to review the app for her use case and to determine whether or not it was complete. She made several suggestions and sent me back to the drawing board. For some reason I had felt I was done with this app, however, there are still several key features that need to be completed.

I added the ability to see how shifts listed in rows within a new excel sheet to easily determine availability of all employees at a glance. This is coupled with two new schedules that contain raw data rather than the finished data presented in the final schedule. This was necessary as the application still leaves some leg work for Andrea and these schedules give her all the information she needs to alter the final product.

Next week I hope to finish up my final two goals, which are considerably smaller. I have met with my manager and determined we can have a meeting regarding OneDrive to give me all the training I need to feel comfortable with teaching other how to use it.
