Senior Internship - Week 7 Journal Entry

What was your easiest accomplishment during this week's internship?

It's hard to draw a line to decide what was my easiest accomplishment, because it may very well have been, say, encrypting my excel file. But that took me only a few seconds. Another accomplishment I had that took considerably more time but was still easy was meeting with my manager and discussing when and how we would use this application once complete. This helped us plan out the future and to give me an end goal in mind. We will deploy this application once this quarter is over to change class account passwords.

What was your hardest accomplishment during this week's internship?

My main focus this week in regard to work for my internship was on the coding and creation of my Class Account App. This app will allow the help desk to automate away all the time spent on updating class account passwords and sending out emails to staff to inform them of the app. This was not easy and required countless hours of learning VBA, restructuring code, and asking ChatGPT for help like a lost puppy. But, in the end, I ran the program on my 2 test class accounts and successfully tested to see if the Excel file could change passwords in Active Directory! The hardest part of this program was connecting to Active Directory, but I accomplished it!
